You could say 25 years! When I was 11 years old, my Grandma Jean bought me a child's knitting machine and I learned how to make knit beanies that fit a small ceramic monkey she sold at ceramic shows. I would make a hundred beanies before each show and she would sell out every time! I was hooked. In spring of 2005, I learned how to knit (by hand, not machine) and decided to make myself a cute tote bag to hold my yarn and needles. I got so many compliments on the bag that I decided to start selling them on eBay. That's how I got started selling online. How Did You Get Started Also, my Grandma Jean taught me how to crochet, how to paint, and how to make ceramics and pottery. My Aunt Pat taught me how to sew. Both very smart, very creative ladies. Any Current or Future Projects? Right now, I'm designing a line of screenprinted cozies for scissors and glasses. Also, I'm trying out fabric-covered and embroidered handbound journals. In the future I might venture into fused glass projects. After all, Grandma has a few very large kilns gathering dust in her workshop. What Do You Like Most About Tulsa? I think it's the perfect size city to live in. Not so big that there are *major* traffic and crime problems. Not so small that everyone knows your business. List Three Likes: pizza, baby cheeks, falling asleep to thunderstorms List Three Dislikes: talking on the phone, slow drivers, repetitive noises |
